Immigration Attorney Background

I was raised in a small farming community outside Lawrence, Kansas. As a young boy, I delivered papers seven days a week. As a teenager, I spent my summers working on farms and in restaurants. My family later moved to a suburb of Kansas City where I graduated from high school.  I later graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in political science. While at the University of Colorado I focused my studies on International Politics and U.S. Foreign Policy and was awarded a bachelors degree in Political Science.  I also became very active in local and state democratic politics as a grass roots organizer and was the President of the CU Boulder College Democrats.  I am licensed in the State of Colorado and I practice exclusively Federal law across the United States.

At the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, I specialized in administrative and legislative law. In addition to a Juris Doctorate, I received a ”Certificate in Governmental Affairs.”  Since graduation, I have been a consumer advocate, grass roots activists and a lobbyist. I have worked on many public policy issues such as consumer rights in telecommunications, consumer rights against secret court settlements and HMO / health insurance reform.  As a consumer advocate, I have advocated before the California Legislature and various governmental agencies.

As a private practice attorney, I have focused my practice primarily on advocacy for individuals.  I have found I really enjoy representing real people against the overwhelming and impersonal bureaucracy of the United States Government. I find it particularly rewarding guiding my clients through some of the greatest obstacles they have faced in their lives. I consider myself fortunate that I have the opportunity to apply my political science knowledge  with my private law practice.  I especially enjoy learning about the history and political issues in my clients’ countries.  Whether my client is facing Deportation or Removal from the United States, wants to help a family member immigrate to the United States, I take the time to get to know my clients and I fight hard for positive results. I have enjoyed a very high success ratio in all my cases.
